Jeff Dahlke’s Career Profile

Jeff Dahlke grew up on a family farm in Denmark, Wisconsin. He worked on the farm as a child from age six to sixteen, doing everything from the pre-dawn milking to the planting, the harvesting, the planning, and the decision-making. At age sixteen he began working for Natural Beauty Growers, a local greenhouse, earning and saving enough money to buy himself a car. Jeff attended UW Stout, though only for one semester. College wasn’t for him. He wanted to work.

He began his long and prestigious career in construction at Vinton Construction Company in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He started on the paving crew in 1985 as Saw Man, then Operator. In 1999 he was promoted to Concrete Paving Supervisor, a position he held at Vinton, then at The Harper Company in Kentucky, the Berns Construction Company in Indiana, and Golden Triangle Construction Company in Pennsylvania. As Paving Supervisor, Jeff and his crew won four state paving awards (in Wisconsin, Ohio and Indiana) between 1999 and 2006, and two national paving awards in 2002 and 2004. He then worked as Paving Supervisor at Michels Corporation in Brownsville, Wisconsin.

Jeff recently gave up his dream job as a Global Service Technician at Guntert & Zimmerman to return to work in Wisconsin full time at Michels Corporation.  "I wanted to be closer to family and to focus on the Assembly campaign," he said.  "Sometimes you have to put your dreams on hold to do what is right for those you love.  I'm doing this for my kids and grandkids."

Jeff is still recognized as the “go to” expert for troubleshooting concrete paving machinery, and Jeff’s professional reach remains global. He has built strong relationships with customers in the U.S., Canada, The Netherlands, Kaliningrad, Russia, The People’s Republic of Georgia, Australia, Turkey, Indonesia and China.
